How the Security Tag System Builder works
The builder designs a complete new anti theft system for your store and prices it instantly. Answer four questions and it recommends a full configuration built on new Century detection equipment, with professional installation included in the total.
The four questions
- How many entrances or exits your store has. The builder handles one to four entrances. Five or more routes you to a specialist.
- How wide each entrance is, in feet.
- How many cash wraps or registers you operate.
- What you sell. Choices are apparel, sporting goods, jewelry, hardware, dispensary, electronics, pharmacy, cosmetics, grocery, liquor, office supplies, or other and mixed merchandise.
How it chooses AM or RF
Your product type decides the technology. Apparel, sporting goods, jewelry, hardware, dispensary, electronics, and mixed merchandise stores are matched to an AM 58 kHz system built on Century Classic primary and secondary posts. Pharmacy, cosmetics, grocery, liquor, and office supply stores are matched to an RF 8.2 MHz system built on Century G1000 pedestals. More detail: AM or RF, which technology your store runs.
How it sizes your entrances
Pedestal count is based on entrance width. Entrances up to 6 feet get 2 pedestals, up to 12 feet get 3, up to 18 feet get 4, up to 24 feet get 5, and up to 30 feet get 6. Any entrance wider than 30 feet is quoted by a specialist instead. Full table: how many pedestals your entrance needs.
What every recommendation includes
- Detection pedestals sized to your entrances
- Security tags or labels matched to your merchandise, for example hard tags with pins for apparel, jewelry hang labels for jewelry, and barcode style labels for pharmacy and grocery
- A detacher for each register when hard tags are included
- A deactivator matched to your system frequency when labels are included
- Professional installation, one installation unit for every four pedestals. Installation covers most continental US locations, and remote areas are quoted individually.
What you get at the end
The result screen shows a plain English recommendation, an itemized list of every product with quantities, prices, and links to each product page, and a total with installation included. From there you can add the whole bundle to your cart, have the quote emailed to you, or talk to a specialist at 1-888-909-8247. A Retail Security Group sales rep confirms the final configuration before any order ships.
When the builder hands you to a person
Stores with five or more entrances, any entrance wider than 30 feet, sites that need both AM and RF systems, requests for a single pedestal placed in the center of a doorway, and service or repair on existing systems all go to a specialist rather than an automatic recommendation.
