If you run an older Sensormatic or Checkpoint EAS system, you have probably noticed something: the original manufacturers are steadily ending support for legacy hardware. Systems that still work get labeled end of life, parts get harder to find, and service quietly disappears. You are left with a functioning system and nowhere to turn. That is exactly the gap Retail Security Group (RSG) fills.
We Service the Systems the Manufacturers Won't
RSG installs and services both current and legacy EAS systems, including older Sensormatic and Checkpoint systems the original manufacturers no longer support. When a system is retired or service ends on it, we keep it running: repairs, replacement parts, deactivator and detacher service, and full system support. You keep the equipment you already paid for, and you keep it working.
Signs Your EAS System Has Reached End of Life
Most retailers never get a clear announcement that their system is being retired. The signs show up slowly. You may be running a legacy system if any of these sound familiar:
- Your service provider stopped renewing your maintenance contract, or referred you elsewhere.
- Replacement pedestals, boards, or power supplies are back ordered or no longer listed.
- You were told the only option is a full upgrade to a newer platform.
- Your deactivators or detachers fail and no one will repair them.
- The model is one the manufacturer no longer publishes documentation for.
None of those mean your system is finished. They mean the original manufacturer has moved on. The hardware in your store can usually keep running for years with the right service behind it.
What We Repair and Service
We cover the full EAS system, not just one piece of it:
- EAS pedestals and antenna detection systems
- Deactivator pads and detacher hooks
- Power supplies, control boards, and synchronization
- Sensormatic, Checkpoint, Century, and Ketec systems
Both acousto magnetic (AM) and radio frequency (RF) systems are supported, whether the equipment is current or long discontinued.
How Our Legacy System Service Works
Getting an older system back in service is straightforward:
- Tell us what you have. The make, the model if you know it, and what is happening. A photo of the pedestal label helps.
- We diagnose it. We confirm whether the issue is the pedestal, the deactivator, the detacher, or the wiring, and what it takes to fix.
- We repair or supply the part. Through our depot program we repair boards and supply replacement parts for systems the manufacturer no longer stocks.
- Your system stays yours. You keep the equipment you already own, working the way it should.
You Do Not Have to Replace a System That Still Works
Manufacturers have an incentive to push you toward a full replacement. We do not. If your system can be repaired and kept in service, that is almost always the lower cost path. Our depot program keeps older systems running long after a manufacturer would tell you to buy new.
Service in All 50 States
Wherever your stores are, we cover them. RSG services and installs EAS systems in all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii, from a single location to a multistate fleet. Learn more on our nationwide EAS installation and service page.
Common Questions
Do you service Sensormatic systems that are no longer supported?
Yes. We repair and service legacy and discontinued Sensormatic systems, including pedestals, deactivators, and detachers.
Can you repair a discontinued Checkpoint system?
Yes. We service current and legacy Checkpoint systems, including models the manufacturer no longer supports.
How do I know if my EAS system is end of life?
If parts are back ordered, your maintenance contract was not renewed, or you were told the only option is a full upgrade, your system is likely considered legacy by the manufacturer. It can almost always still be serviced.
Do I have to replace my old EAS system?
Usually not. If it can be repaired, keeping it in service is often cheaper than a full replacement.
What does it cost to service a legacy EAS system?
It depends on the system and the issue, but a repair is almost always less than a full replacement. Contact us for a quote on your specific system.
Do you service EAS systems nationwide?
Yes. We service and install in all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
